X-Men: The Last Stand, Rogue/Bobby/Kitty Thoughts

So I finally got around to watching X-Men: The Last Stand. It's not a great movie, and I was pretty well-spoiled, so not much to write home about. But I did have thoughts on the Rogue/Bobby/Kitty love triangle.

Which is this: If Rogue thinks the cure is going to save her relationship with Bobby, she's mistaken. Bobby's sort of flirtation with Kitty doesn't come across as a reaction to not being able to touch Rogue. It comes across was Bobby wanting two girlfriends, and not being particular concerned about how Rogue feels about that. That's not going to change just because he can touch Rogue now. Rogue has lots of legitimate reasons for taking the cure, but I don't think it will make Bobby a better boyfriend.

I think other reasons aside, it was a legitimate concern for Rogue to have physical intimacy in her life. Although I also think that when she left to take the cure, it wasn't Bobby who was on her mind so much anymore. She just wanted to have 'a' boyfriend at some point who could touch her. Or maybe just even a hug from a friend given how hard her family life was.

I agree with that. And certainly one does not need to even have a hard family life to want to be able to hug a friend. The whole Bobby/Kitty thing was kind of a weird way for the movie to address Rogue's issues with her power, because there were a lot of things that were more relevant.
