1 - Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed.
2 - I will respond; I’ll ask you five questions.
3 - You’ll update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
4 - You’ll include this explanation.
5 - You’ll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.
01. What was a piece of media that completely rewired your brain and fundamentally changed you as a person?
Reading Brian Jacques' Redwall books as a child. When I was eight years old all I wanted to do was write books just like that.
I think it's easier for me to see the books I enjoyed as a child. As an adult, no matter how much I might love something, I can see the strings. I'm always thinking, "The writer/creater made this choice for this reason".
02. How would you define your youth (childhood/teen years)?
My childhood was incredible. My parents were doting and I was homeschooled, unschooled, which means I was mostly self-taught. My sister is close in age and as children I didn't know any other sibling pair who got along as well as we did. My parents made sure we were exposed to stuff: Books, movies, old radio, etc. We went to museums and played in the woods and went to every library in the metro area.
My teen years were not as nice. I struggled with depression. My sister and I stopped speaking for four years. I like to say I spent two years (age 16 to age 18) doing nothing but reading superhero comics - this is an exaggeration, but not by much.
03. What song and/or musician are you currently liking at the moment?
I am really into Taylor Swift these days. It took me awhile to warm up to her, but now I really like her.
04. What's a particular hobby you're interested in but haven't yet taken up?
I passed an indoor climbing place recently - I tried it a couple of times as a kid but never really got into it. It might be fun.
05. If you could change one thing about the place you're living in, what would it be?
I love living in a historical building, but the elevators take FOREVER. The elevators in my building are actually on two seperate systems because they aren't quite close enough for one.
