In a Gender-Swappy Mood This Month

What would Buffy/Riley be like genderswapped? I don't think Girl!Riley would feel insecure about Boy!Buffy being stronger then her, but what about the other part? Would Girl!Riley feel unloved because Boy!Buffy didn't act emotional enough with her? Would Girl!Riley be upset to learn that Boy!Buffy cried over his parent's illness, but not around her? Not sure.

Hmm I’m not sure if Girl!Riley would be upset in the same way because a lot of his issues were about wanting to take care of Buffy and have her lean on him, whereas I feel like a female partner wouldn’t have made such an issue of wanting to be Buffy’s protector

I'm inclined to agree. And I think women are told to expect more emotional stoicism from their male partners. Whereas a man like Riley sees emotional stoicism from his female partner as rejection.
