Buffy Season One

I'm almost finished re-watching Buffy season 1, and I'm really impressed by how good it is. I usually think of season 1 as a weaker season, but it is pretty consistently fun, entertaining, and engaging.

I have a soft spot for S1 of BTVS. A lot of people say to skip the season because it's not like the rest of the series, which is true, but I still think S1 is an enjoyable season. It's more episodic than dealing with bigger things, aside from Buffy versus The Master and such. But it's fun and entertaining.

Yeah, the later seasons are better, but season one really is good television. I think it's the characters - Buffy, Xander, Giles, and Willow are all likeable and recognizable as the people they will become. Cordelia is a bit of a caricature for most of the season, but even she gets depth by the end.

I like that season. Not a favorite but not the wort ever either. It sets grounds that are more confirmed in season 2 but it is a needed season anyway.

Yeah - it pales in comparison to S2 onward, but it's actually very good.

I liked it too, some of the episode plots aren’t always the best, but even back then the characterisation was really strong
