CoE raised all kinds of questions about where to draw the line in sacrificing for the greater good. My response has been all over the place--when I first watched the episodes I was sympathetic to Jack's choice to kill Steven, but then I read online reactions and got angry, and wasn't sympathetic at all. Then after my anger burned out I felt more sympathetic again.
Frobisher killing his children was his way of saving them from what he thought was a fate worse than death, but I always wondered if two other children were going to end up being sacrificed in their place. How OCD were those aliens, anyway?
