Thoughts on the Ending of Hawkeye

I am conflicted about it. On the one hand, Clint does seem to be remorseful while Eleanor is making excuses. But Eleanor doesn't really get a chance. Kate has already called the police before she has a chance to justify herself - or not. Clint has had a lot of time to look back on his actions and decide how to handle it.
I can also see why Eleanor's actions and excuses were particularly hard for Kate. Her mother's actions were a betrayal of her, while Clint's were not. Kate benefited directly from her mother's crimes. Eleanor even says Kate is the reason why she did those things - if she weren't so locked in her own headspace perhaps she'd see what a cruel thing that is to say. So Kate may have felt a responsibility for her mother's murder that wasn't there with Ronin's murders.
Anyway. Conflicted. And interested if anyone else has thoughts or an angle I might have missed.
