Angel - Creepy Because He's Homeless?

I don't have any links, but I've seen a number of online conversations lately discussing how creepy Angel is in the Becoming Part 1 flashbacks. I couldn't agree more, except for one thing.

 

I've seen more than one person focus on Angel's homelessness and his battered car as signs of creepiness. In reality, most people who are sexually abused are abused by someone they know. Angel spying on fifteen-year-old Buffy is creepy - his homelessness does not make it more or less creepy.
