itsnotmymind1. Mirabel gradually becomes head of the family as Abuela becomes too elderly
2. The reason Mirabel didn't get a gift was that the family enchantment somehow knew the experience of not having one would make her a better leader
3. After the events of the movie, Mirabel is mostly at peace with her lack of gift. She knows she is valued and valuable because of who she is. But no matter how old she gets or how much wisdom she earns, she still has rare moments when she desperately wishes she had a magical gift.
