Thoughts on the Board Game "Life"

As a child, I liked the Game of Life. It had so many opportunities for storytelling, and that was something I valued in a game. At some point my like turned to dislike. I think I became an adult and realized what a terrible job the game does of portraying actual, real life adulthood.

 

Recently a played part of game with some friends, and I was taken aback by the gambling. There are multiple spaces where you get money because you won big gambling. I had this idea of the game being wholesome, which it is, but apparently whoever designed the modern version of the game thought gambling was wholesome.
