I've finished watching the Star Wars sequel series (for which I was quite spoiled).

The first movie was the strongest. That was when I was the most invested in the characters and the plot,

Kylo Ren's storyline in the final movie was very weak - I'm not opposed to him getting some kind of redemption arc but it should have been his choice, not some magical thing his mother did. Of course, what Kylo Ren's story really needed, whether or not he redeemed himself, was an emotional confrontation with his mother. But with Carrie Fisher's death that was not possible.

I've heard that Rey gets criticized as a Mary Sue, which is annoying - it has been said that a male Mary Sue is a protagonist, and I do think that applies here. I was spoiled for Rey's grand-paternity and I think it works - Rey chooses light despite her heritage.

I think I'm done with the Star Wars universe - I don't see myself rewatching anything or pursuing any other Star Wars stories. I enjoyed what I saw but did not love it, and I have satisfied my curiosity.
