*Warning for discussion of suicide attempts*
Someone pointed out the Kendall considering throwing himself off the Waystar Royco building in Safe Room was a "fuck you" to his father. It occurs to me that Kendall trying to drown himself at his mother's wedding was a "fuck you" to her. We know he was hurting from her decision to exclude him from part of the festivities so the groom could suck up to Logan. It's safe to say he was probably still hurt from last season when she avoided his request to open up.
This led to me thinking how in the aftermath of his suicide attempt, Ken's siblings, particularly Shiv, demonstrated a willingness to hear Ken out no matter how hard and difficult it was.
I can't remember if it is made explicit, but it appears to be Shiv's idea to do the intervention - she's certainly taking the lead. Kendall is defensive but doesn't walk away, and actually starts opening up to them - then Connor ruins it.
(I was surprised to get online and find out a lot of people are cheering Connor in this scene. Yes, Connor has legitimate grievances against the Golden Trio - but. There is a time and place to call your brother "selfish", tell him to "shut up", and basically accuse him of being whiny. An intervention because he just attempted suicide is not that time and place.)
I wonder what happened after Connor walked away. Probably Kendall also just got up and left.
Still, Kendall does seem to have gotten the message that Shiv and Roman are open to hearing what's actually going on with him, and when Shiv asks in a later scene he tells him. The first thing Shiv says when Ken finally admits something is wrong is, "It's OK". She seems a bit weirded out, but she's there with him - not spooked the way Caroline was when Ken tried to open up to her.
