Media Consumption 07/26/2023
Jul. 26th, 2023 06:51 pm My second post about what media I am consuming!
Note that in these posts I won't necessarily go over everything I'm consuming (especially music I'm listening to since that's such a broad selection) but I will share the highlights/what's new/what's interesting.
I'm reading Violence Over the Land, by Ned Blackhawk. It's a history book (I read a lot of those) about relations between Native Americans and Europeans in the American west. Right now it is primarily focused on Spaniards and a Native American group called the Ute who I'm not sure I had even heard of before.
I am also reading volume 10 of the Fullmetal Alchemist manga. I watched anime, and the other anime, and the live action, and now I'm finally getting to the manga.
I just started watching the Taylor Swift documentary Miss Americana. Taylor Swift is the first time since I was a teenager that I can just listen to a single artist over and over again.
I've been listening to a lot of the songs from the P.T. Barnum biopic The Greatest Showman. I actually decided to watch the movie after having heard the song "This is Me". The music is really uplifting. Googling tells me the movie itself is wildly inaccurate, but I intend at some point to read a Barnum biography for myself to see what, exactly, they got wrong.
