I love it when women cover John Lennon's songs. Here are three amazing covers of his work by female singers that I have stumbled upon in my explorations of the internet.




Priscilla Ahn's heartbreaking take on Julia.

Regina Spektor's lovely version of Real Love. Her voice strikes me as beautifully suited to this song. There is some empty space at the end of this video. I don't know why. You can just skip it.

Elizabth Gillies' gorgeous cover of Jealous guy. I appreciate that she doesn't try to genderswap the lyrics.

I defy you to not be awed by this music.

At some point in the future I'd like to tackle the great white whale of Beatles RPF, which is the Paul and Yoko relationship through the decades. I've written a bit about it from her pov in "Opposites", and in moments like the one at the ending here, but that's also about a lot of other things.

That would be an interesting one to see. Opposites is one of my favorites of yours.
